Ishmael Marika is a filmmaker working with The Mulka Project: a production house, recording studio, digital learning centre, and cultural archive that protects Yolŋu cultural knowledge in Northeast Arnhem Land, Australia. The Mulka Project is managed by Yolŋu law and governance under the leadership of community elders. Mulka means "a sacred but public ceremony" and "to hold or protect."
